Why Country and Niche Change Your YouTube Earnings

Not all YouTube views are worth the same. Two videos with identical view counts can earn vastly different amounts based on where the audience is located and what topic the video covers.

🌍 Country Impact

Advertisers pay premium rates to reach audiences in high-GDP countries like the US, UK, Canada, Germany, and Australia. A view from the United States typically earns 5-10x more than a view from India or Pakistan.

📊 Niche Impact

Finance, business, and software videos attract high-value advertisers who bid aggressively. Kids content and general entertainment typically have much lower CPMs due to advertiser restrictions and lower purchase intent.

Example: A finance tutorial with 1 million views from US audiences might earn $15,000–$30,000. A kids cartoon with 1 million views from India might earn only $500–$2,000. Same view count, completely different revenue.

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is this YouTube Video Money Calculator?

This calculator provides estimates based on typical CPM rates for different countries and niches. Actual revenue can vary significantly based on factors like audience demographics, video length, watch time, ad engagement, seasonality, and advertiser demand. For the most accurate numbers, check your YouTube Studio analytics.

Does this calculator work for videos from any country?

Yes! The calculator supports videos from all countries worldwide. It detects the channel's country and applies appropriate CPM rates. For countries not in our database, we use global average rates. You can also manually select a country in the manual calculator.

Why do finance and business videos earn more than kids content?

Finance and business videos attract advertisers selling high-value products and services (loans, software, investments). These advertisers are willing to pay premium CPM rates. Kids content has lower CPMs due to COPPA regulations that restrict targeted advertising, and children have low purchasing power.

Can I enter my own CPM from YouTube Studio?

Absolutely! After calculating with a video URL, you'll see a "Custom CPM" field where you can enter your actual CPM from YouTube Studio. This gives you a much more accurate revenue estimate based on your real data.

Does this include sponsorships and other income?

No, this calculator focuses only on YouTube Partner Program ad revenue (the money YouTube pays you for ads shown on your videos). Sponsorships, affiliate income, merchandise, memberships, and Super Chats are separate income streams not included in these estimates.

Does the calculator work for YouTube Shorts?

While you can analyze any video URL, Shorts have a different monetization model with significantly lower RPM (revenue per mille). The estimates shown here are more accurate for regular long-form videos. Shorts typically earn $0.01–$0.06 per 1,000 views.

What currency are the earnings shown in?

All earnings are calculated and displayed in USD (US Dollars) by default. We also show instant conversions to EUR (€), GBP (£), INR (₹), and CNY (¥) using approximate exchange rates.

Do I need to connect my YouTube account?

No! This calculator works with public video data only. You don't need to log in or connect any accounts. Just paste a video URL or use the manual calculator to get instant estimates.
